OutstandingHigh quality new tight weave fabric. Good side pockets. Solid construction. Neutral aesthetics. They come up past my navel, so good coverage and will keep lower back warm. The bottom of the legs section (where your ankles are) is impressive. 5 or so buttons up the cuff to allow larger boots, and an inner stretchable sleeve to keep warm air in. A really good design for snow. I am 5'9 and 170, with a 34-36 inch waist. The Large is a bit snugger than I would like, but between my target weight of 160, and anticipated loosening up of the garment with wear, it will be fine. I may order an extra large though. These would make superb snow shovelling outerwear, or excellent cold weather outdoor wear. The smooth fabric will likely not catch on things and rip. Good neutral color too. You could wear these to the store, no problem.
