The Douk-Douk is a simple French pocket knife: a carbon steel blade, a handle made from a single sheet of folded steel, and almost nothing else. It is built for everyday cutting, such as opening packages, trimming cord, preparing food in camp, and the small jobs that come up on a walk or a work site. The design has been carried for over 70 years across France and its former colonies, and the French Foreign Legion and French Army have used it too. This version carries the El Baraka artwork on the front of the handle.

• Lanyard Bail — A small hinged loop at the butt of the handle takes a cord or lanyard, so you can tie the knife to a belt loop or pack.
• 4.25 Inch Closed Length — Folded, the knife is 4.25 inches long and flat enough to ride in a trouser pocket without bulk.
• Six-Part Construction — The whole knife is two rivets, the blade, the folded handle, a back-spring and the bail, which leaves very little to fail.

Build And Construction

The blade pivots on a single rivet at the front of the handle, and a back-spring inside the folded steel body keeps it under tension both open and closed. A second rivet at the butt secures the spring and the bail. With a 3.5 inch blade and a 4.25 inch closed length, the knife is a practical size for general carry. Because the blade is carbon steel rather than stainless, wipe it down after use, especially after cutting food or working in wet weather.
