Pocket Survival Reference

ESEE Survival Cards are a set of four plastic reference cards that put core survival skills into something the size of a credit card. They cover fire building, water, traps and snares, escape and evasion, ground-to-air signals and Morse code, so the information is on hand when there is no signal and no manual. They slip into a wallet, a kit pouch or a knife sheath pocket and suit hikers, hunters, preppers and anyone building out a bug-out bag or emergency kit.

• Four-Card Set — Each card carries its own topic, printed in black on white for easy reading in poor light.
• 30 Mil Plastic Card Stock — The cards are 30 mil (0.03 in) thick, the same kind of plastic stock used for credit cards, so they hold up to water and handling where paper would not.
• Fire Building Instructions — A step-by-step guide covers tinder, kindling and fuel, plus ways to light a fire with a ferro rod, the scraped metal rod that throws hot sparks.
• Water Guidance — The same card covers conserving body water and finding sources in the field, along with mile-to-kilometer conversions.
• Trap And Snare Diagrams — Line drawings show basic traps, including the figure-four deadfall, a notched-stick trigger that drops a weight when bait is disturbed.
• Escape And Evasion Notes — Escape and evasion, the military term for avoiding capture and getting back to safety, is covered with tips on covering tracks and moving through terrain.
• Ground-To-Air Signals — Standard symbols such as I for serious injury, X for unable to proceed and LL for all is OK let you communicate with aircraft by marking them on the ground.
• International Morse Code Chart — The full alphabet and numerals 0 to 9 appear in dots and dashes, with the timing rules for spacing letters and words.
• Built-In Rulers — Inch and centimeter scales printed along the card edges give you a quick measuring reference.
• Made In USA — ESEE produces the set in the United States.

Build And Carry

ESEE Knives designed the cards as a companion to its survival knives and training, and the printing references ESEE and Jungle Training. The rounded-corner plastic cards stack flat and add almost nothing to a pack's weight or bulk. Keep one set in your everyday wallet and another in a vehicle or emergency kit.
