Very sturdyHeavier than the Aames G.I. version. But also a lot sturdier. I love it. Also looks like you can take it apart to clean and grease it when you need to. The carrying case is not so great. Yet, for the price, it's a good deal

Great e-toolThese are great. I have an AMES one from 1980, and this is just as well made. It’s actually a little heavier, I suspect due to the larger locking lug. I’m glad I got one as it’s difficult to come across a genuine military surplus e-tool that’s brand new. I want nothing to do with those newer issue plastic Gerber ones. The case sucks, but I have quite a few US issue E-tool pouches laying around, so it was a non issue. Besides, most people aren’t buying this for the case.

Great shovel....case not so greatThe shovel is great. Looks brand new and very well made. The case carry strap tore lose the first time I picked it up. I picked the unit up by the strap and it failed. That is the only thing keeping this from being five stars across the board. Be aware of this when making your purchase decisions.

Great quality!These are awesome. Brand new, at a great price. Finish is perfect, functions flawlessly, not a cheaply made copy of this workhorse of a shovel design. I even managed to snag one on Black Friday at an unbelievably low price, now both of our cars are outfitted with these in case of getting stuck in the snow, or having to do some digging. 5 stars all the way.
