The French Gendarme is one of the most recognized law enforcement agencies in France. With responsibility for protecting some of the most important monuments and facilities in France, the Gendarme needs quality equipment to be successful in this role. One of the most challenging aspects for any superior security service like the Gendarme is to properly equip their officers for weather conditions that change frequently.
With these French MP Blue Rain Overpants you will be prepared for any change in the weather, just like Gendarme agents are in France. You can roll these overpants up and store them in your vehicle, office, or shop so that they are available when you need them most. They are quick to put on with the elastic waistband and boot zippers and are made from a tough water resistant material that will surely keep your pants dry when your wearing these overpants.

Look at it this way, where can you find pants that perform this well for $10.99? Exactly.
Seeing the build quality of these things and how well they repel rain, I think a civilian equivalent will cost at least $100
I rode my bicycle in two miles of steady rain and my legs where BONE DRY.
Matter of fact, the material didn't absorb ANY water, they where dry when I came home.
Truly remarkable value.
I guess these are made for French MP's that have holsters, radios, etc. since they are almost chap-like at the top with HUGE cutouts for both front pockets and sides. You wouldn't want these as rain pants for motorcycles or bicycles, but for anything else where you are standing , they are fine. They are VERY LONG and unhemmed. I hemmed them up near the bottom of the zipper and they are fine for my 34" inseam. Bought a pair for Mom too and she'll have to really hem hers (or let them bunch up). She needs them for shoveling snow to keep her pant legs dry and they will work fine for that
Not breathable so they could be hot in the summer but great for winter wet or snowy weather - wouldn't even be bad for wearing over jeans for sledding! T3 is a good large fit and plenty long. Not bad for the price - even better if they ever go on sale!
