Description
Rothco Wool Blanket
This is a plain, hard-wearing wool blanket from Rothco in a dark grey that reads close to charcoal. It goes on the cot at camp, in the trunk with the vehicle emergency kit, or over your knees on a cold stand or in the duck blind. There are no patterns, labels or extras on it, just a full sheet of brushed wool with finished edges.
Features
- Wool Construction — Wool keeps much of its insulating value when damp, which is why it has long been a standard fabric for field and camp blankets.
- Dark Grey Colorway — The deep, near-charcoal shade hides dirt, ash and campfire smudges far better than a light blanket would.
- Overlocked Edges — A zigzag overlock stitch, sometimes called serging, wraps the raw edge of the fabric so it does not fray or unravel with use.
- Rounded Corners — The corners are cut on a curve rather than a sharp point, so there are no thin tips to catch, curl or wear through first.
- Napped Surface — The face is brushed so the fibers stand up slightly, giving a soft, fuzzy texture that traps a layer of warm air.
- Folds Flat — It folds down into a neat, flat rectangle that slides into a pack, a truck bin or behind a seat.
- Multi-Purpose Layer — Use it as a sleeping layer, a ground cover, a vehicle emergency blanket or an extra layer on a bed at home.
Construction
Rothco has made outdoor and military-style gear for decades, and this blanket follows that pattern: a single layer of wool, finished with stitched edges and nothing to break or come loose. The overlocked hem keeps the edge tidy through repeated folding, packing and washing. It is a simple tool for staying warm, built to be thrown in a vehicle or pack and used hard.

Great price for a heavy wool blanketMy old blanket finally gave up after years of abuse on the job site, so I figured id give this place a shot after getting burned by another retailer last month. This one showed up fast and in perfect condition, no torn packaging or anything. Its THICK and warm, way better than I expected for the price, and Ive been using it out here for two weeks now without any issues. The only thing thats bugging me is theres a slight smell when you first open it, kinda chemical-ish, but it airs out after a day or two. Still, for the money and the quality, Im pretty satisfied...
Heavy weighted wool feels durable
Arrived quickly and undamagedHas a chemical smell that takes time to fade
A bit stiff when new -
Perfect for camping trips and emergenciesI keep this in my car for when I go camping or if I get stuck somewhere. It is super warm even on cold nights and the size covers me good on a cot. It does smell a little weird when you first open it but that goes away fast. Does what its supposed to and feels durable.
