Good Sling, Solid Value at Nine BucksI've been assembling a correct-as-possible L1A1 SLR display for a couple years now started with an Entreprise receiver build and I've been slowly swapping in correct Brit-spec parts as I find them. The sling was one of those things I kept putting off because original issue slings in decent shape are getting harder to come by and when you do find them the canvas is usually stiff, discolored, or the brass fittings are green with verdigris. For $8.95 I figured why not give this a shot. Really pleasantly surprised. The cotton canvas has a nice tight weave and the tan color is a good match for what you see on original Enfield and L1A1 slings maybe a shade or two lighter than a well-used original but that's expected for new manufacture canvas that hasn't been dragged through the mud of Aldershot. The brass ends and rivets are solid, not flimsy at all, and everything attached to my L1A1 build without any fussing. The design is the classic British two-point Enfield pattern that was used from the SMLE days right through to the SLR era, which is one of the things I love about British small arms they found something that worked and stuck with it for about 70 years. For the price this is an absolute steal and it completes the look of my rifle beautifully on the wall rack.
