M1 Garand Gas Plug Wrench
The gas plug on an M1 Garand, properly called the gas cylinder lock screw, sits at the muzzle end of the rifle and collects carbon with every shot. After enough rounds it can seize hard enough that fingers and an improvised screwdriver won't move it, and a slipping tool can mar the part or the finish around it. This United Defense wrench is made for that one job. It keys into the plug so you can break it loose and put it back without damage.

- Dedicated M1 Garand Tool — It is shaped for the gas cylinder lock screw on the M1 Garand rather than adapted from a general-purpose wrench.
- Four-Lug Head — A cross-shaped stud with four raised lugs on the end of the head engages the plug so torque goes into the part instead of slipping off it.
- Profiled Socket Body — Flats and slots machined around the head's boss give the tool a second, faceted engagement surface below the lugs.
- Long Flat Bar Handle — The straight handle gives you real leverage on a carbon-fouled plug that has been fired many times since its last cleaning.
- Offset Head Design — The head sits at a right angle to the handle, so you can turn the plug with the rifle on the bench and the handle clear of the barrel.
- Bright Metal Finish — The bare, polished metal surface has no coating to flake off into the gas system or onto your bench.
- Lanyard Hole — A hole drilled through the end of the handle lets you hang the wrench on a peg board or tie it into a cleaning kit.
- United Defense Manufacture — It is a commercially made tool from United Defense, not reissued surplus.

The wrench is a single piece of metal with a flat handle and a raised head, and it has no moving parts to wear out or work loose. Keep it with your Garand cleaning gear so it's on hand whenever the gas cylinder comes off for cleaning, inspection or a front-end rebuild.

Finally a proper tool for this jobBeen messing with my M1 for about 3 years now and was always using a rag and pliers like an idiot. This wrench fits perfect and the gas plug comes right out without any drama. Put maybe 200 rounds through the rifle since i started using it and its made cleaning night and day easier. Honestly should of bought one sooner.
