This is Mil-Tec's reproduction of the bayonet pattern designed for the M1 Garand, the semi-automatic rifle that armed US infantry through World War II and Korea. It copies the outline of the original: a long fullered blade, a crossguard with a muzzle ring, a ribbed grip, and a green scabbard with a metal throat. It suits collectors filling out a Garand display, reenactors building a period-correct loadout, and anyone who wants the look of the issue bayonet without paying for an original.

Features

• Fullered Black Blade — The blade has a long fuller, the groove down its flat that lightens it without losing stiffness, and a dark black finish in the style of military parkerizing.
• Muzzle Ring Crossguard — A ring on one end of the steel crossguard copies the original's design, where the ring slipped over the rifle's muzzle when the bayonet was fixed.
• Pommel Lug Slot — A slot in the pommel mirrors the channel that slid onto the bayonet lug, the small stud under the Garand's barrel that held the bayonet in place.
• Release Button — A round button set into the grip copies the latch used on the original to free the bayonet from the rifle.
• Ribbed Black Grip — Close horizontal ribs run the length of the grip panels, giving a firmer hold than a smooth handle.
• OD Green Scabbard — The scabbard body is olive drab (OD) green, the standard US military field color, and tapers to a rounded tip.
• U.S. Ordnance-Marked Throat — The black metal throat at the mouth of the scabbard carries the flaming bomb and "U.S." emblem of the US Army Ordnance Corps.
• Wire Belt Hook — A double wire hook on the throat clips into the eyelets of period-style pistol belts and web gear.
• Marked Ricasso — Stamped markings sit on the blade just below the crossguard, in the position of the maker and inspection marks on issue bayonets.

Reproduction Details

Mil-Tec builds this as a reproduction, not surplus, so it arrives new rather than with decades of service wear. The bayonet and scabbard come as a set, and the wire hook lets the scabbard ride on a belt the way it was carried in the field. With the black blade and hardware set against the OD green scabbard, it matches the issue pattern well enough to hang beside a Garand or wear with a reenactment uniform.
