OKC RAT Model 2 Folding Knife - Stainless Blade

RAT Model 2 Folder

The OKC RAT Model 2 is a mid-size folding knife from Ontario Knife Co., built for everyday carry and general field work. It is the smaller sibling of the RAT 1, with a 3 inch satin AUS-8 blade that rides in the pocket at just over 4 inches closed. It suits anyone who wants a dependable working folder for opening boxes, cutting cord, food prep at camp or as the knife in a range bag. The blade carries the Randall's Adventure Training logo that gives the RAT line its name.

Features

• 3 Inch AUS-8 Stainless Blade — AUS-8 is a stainless steel known for resisting rust, taking a keen edge and being easy to resharpen in the field.
• Satin Finish — The brushed satin surface gives the plain stainless blade a clean, low-glare look and makes it easy to wipe down.
• Full-Flat Grind — The blade tapers evenly from the spine all the way to the edge, so it slices through material with less drag than a thicker edge profile.
• Liner Lock — A spring steel liner inside the handle moves in behind the open blade to hold it in place, and you push it aside with your thumb to close the knife.
• Dual Thumb Studs — A stud on each side of the blade lets you open the knife one-handed with either your right or left hand.
• Textured FRN Handle — The scales are fiberglass-reinforced nylon, a tough, light polymer, with a fine texture that holds in a wet or gloved hand.
• Jimped Spine And Finger Choil — Grooves on the blade spine give your thumb purchase, and a deep cutout at the front of the handle locks your index finger in place.
• 4-Position Reversible Clip — The pocket clip mounts on either side of the handle, tip-up or tip-down, so you can set it up for left or right pocket carry.
• Lanyard Hole — A hole at the butt of the handle takes a lanyard or paracord fob for easier retrieval and secure tethering.

Size And Carry

The RAT 2 measures 7.00 inches overall with a 4.1 inch closed handle, small enough to disappear in a jeans pocket while leaving a full four-finger grip when open. The handle uses black FRN scales over steel liners, held together with Torx screws. The blade is plain-edged with a drop point profile and a stainless finish.
