    Reliable light weight budget EDC

    Overall Rating

Pros: Good EDC if you're going to be on foot a lot all day. The pocket clip is strong, and it won't come out if I don't pull it, which is something I always look for. Very light, sturdy and well built, good blade shape for daily tasks, came fairly sharp out of the box, easy to clean. The small size and easy weight make it comfortable to wear all day and good for reaching in the front pocket. Very reliable. If you're planning on breaking it out often this is the right size for you to have ready to go. Cons: The only con is really aesthetic. It's plain and looks plain, but if you're looking for an EDC to keep around that's not flashy, you'll be ok with that because the build quality will be worth it. But it's worth mentioning because it's not something you'll think of buying a knife for, so if that's your primary reason for buying it, I wouldn't go for this one. If you can see yourself carrying this every day I think it's worth it. Conclusion: This is a lightweight EDC with great build quality and practical size.

    Great little EDC pocket knife

    Overall Rating

I purchased this to replace my now-broken old EDC pocket knife, an unidentified blade with 2" as a closed length, as that one was indispensable for years and I am sad to see it go, and had been eyeing the RAT II for awhile now. As far as comparing it to my old one, while I am still getting used to the slightly longer length, the grip has an excellent "girth" and while smaller than my last, my old knife was bigger, so I can still wrap my thumb around the handle just fine. Blade sharpness? Absolutely fine. The last pocket knife I bought from Amazon's mass of suppliers, and it arrived so far less than sharp as compared to what I would've expected for a production model - the 12 HRC would probably be an accurate assessment, had I been able to measure. However, as a man with zero knowledge of the metalworking and polishing trades, I'm happy with a decent but very basic edge and it didn't take much time at all to recondition it to a good 8 or 9 - that would probably take an amateur an hour or two and cost an expert more like a day. It's sharp. I just have some unrealistic expectations about how a new, $10 pocket knife can possibly be as sharp as my $2 pocket razor is out of the box. And the flipper? Works great. Smooth. And this one even locks - it doesn't have an ambi and auto, or it would be 5 stars hands down. However, this is one of the strong suits for this pocket knife, that it locks and unlocks easily, and I appreciate the mechanism a great deal. All around? Very happy. Worth every penny.

    Fantastic EDC

    Overall Rating

Absolutely love this knife, as I have my two other edc's in this series. The clip point style has the great utility for daily use while also having that aggressive blade shape to take care of heavy duty work if need be. I do think this model, if anything I think this model should be about $5 cheaper than the model 1. Overall it's an excellent purchase, as long as you understand what it is, as well as what it isn't, it can't be the blade on a bench hook or other applications where sturdiness is an over riding quality, this knife isn't that it's an EDC for people who are mindful of their budget and don't want to drop $100 on their EDC, that's it. Otherwise it's a great piece of quality that will get better over time, it's had better and better.

    It came sharp

    Overall Rating

So for the people who say this knife comes dull I’m guessing they don’t know how to sharpen knives. If you do then I don’t see why you would give this knife such a low rating. I love this knife. I don’t use it everyday. Just when I need it. But if you’re buying this knife you should know how to take care of a knife.
