Take sizing seriously
Really nicely made jacket. Materials are high quality, construction seems solid. No complaints whatsoever. Going to look even better once it's worn in a bit. As for sizing, I'm 5'8" 225 & wear large or xl depending on what it is. I sized down based on what everyone has been saying and ordered a medium. I was really concerned about it being too small but based on the measurements provided this seemed like the best fit. And thankfully it fits perfectly. It's not overly snug but it's not bulky. More of a tailored clean fit with no slop. Shoulder seams line up nicely with where my shoulder ends. I'm not going to have a ton of room inside if I wear a bulky sweater or two with the liner installed, but I'm not going to wear that anyway. I have winter coats for that. Overall 5 stars from the get go. Hopefully it holds up over time but it really does look and feel like a well made jacket.
Love this thing!!! Very warm and light enough for what it is. Wore these in the usmc but mine was camo. Always liked the drab green. The liner is awesome as well and feels good. Only complaint is with the type of jacket and yes the military ones have the same issue. They took out the pockets when they designed the m65. Just cargo pockets. I’m a pocket puncher! Love coats with nice deep pockets. Not the company’s fault just how these are made by everyone. My only complaint in the usmc….well about the coat anyway. Got a local seamstress and gonna have my bottom cargo pockets lined. Love this thing. And they run true to size so not sure who is saying they don’t but they are wrong! I’m 6’ 230lbs guess regular build? Anyway read about these running big bla bla bla. Bought a large off eBay and yep you guessed it! Too small. Would work in a pinch but was tight across the back and if you wear more than a shirt it’s really gonna be constricting! Gave it to my brother who wears a large normally and it fit him perfectly! Also got stung on a n3b parka same company same issue. I could have made it work but it was just a bit tight as well so, yep my brother made out like a bandit! I bought that parka cause I always wanted one when I was a kid. This coat will handle any southern winters as well as northern ones as those folks are crazy resistant to the cold! Me not so much! I’m an East Texas boy! Born breed and raised! We have about a week of what I call northern winter and other than that it’s usually between 40 to 50ish. We might have a super cold day or two but that’s it. Was disappointed cause I never got to wear either of mine and I was waiting! No matter they are there when it’s time. Materials seem to me the equivalent of what my give issued one was made from. Not sure why some say it’s substandard. I’m very utilitarian and I buy once. Wear my clothes weather I’m working or goin out. So my coat will see plenty of action if the temp drops enough for one. I don’t do the dress coat the work coat the everyday coat. Like I said bought the parka just cause I wanted one. This one would be perfect by itself with no issues. Oh they dropped the pockets cause your supposed to wear gloves was the reason for the design change I was told. I think it was an oversight and they just ran with it. Anyway great jacket! Get one you won’t be sorry! Peace
Fits was just right.
Whats not to like? My husband loves the jacket. Fits perfectly.
Great jacket, would recommend.
3X was too big, 2X - Perfect!
With liner the fit was great. Plenty of room. Initial impression: Very satisfied.
I purchased this for a barn coat, that I could wear while out doing farm chores. So far, I really like it. The only thing I don't care for is the fact that the sleeves don't fit tightly around the wrist, allowing cold air up the sleeves. I fixed it with a couple quick wraps of tape. Aside from that, I really like the coat.
Great coat for a fantastic price.
I have three of these coats. One black one tan and one olive drab.
I put my military patches on them and wear them according to the season or my color pallet for the day. The coats are very warm with the liner installed. Can be warn in mild weather if you remove the liner.
Rothco M-65 Field Jacket
I bought this coat as a gift. It arrived timely (fast), placed in a secure location as directed, was securely packaged and the recipient of this coat loves it. The size is perfect, the coat looks exactly as advertised and is well made.
Excellent Field Jacket!!
Being a US Army Veteran from the mid-1970's I had high expectations for this OD Green field jacket. This coat met them all!! Very well made with a nice/warm liner that is removable. Also, one of my pet peeves is light, cheap zippers that break in the first 3 to 6 months. This zipper will probably outlive me! :) All things added up I couldn't be happier. It reminds me of the field jacket I was issued in 1975 and that I wore for many years. Both in the Army and after my service. I highly recommend this jacket!!
Smart jacket, runs a little big.
My wife surprised me with this jacket for Christmas. It replaced my torn and tattered 40 year old jacket. As good as GI issue. My wife replaced all my original patches and still proud to wear this jacket.
