Received the M65 today. Well pleased with the material. Washed it once and hung to air dry. It fits as expected. Will probably add some Velcro at cuff. Just what I wanted. It's a keeper! Well made. Plenty of pockets. Sizing runs a little large. Not really "military quality" since they do use lighter, less expensive fabrics, but sturdy enough for civilian use.

Great coat and will probably buy another one in a different color. Wish it was 6550 material though

Great field jacket at a great price, as a Marine Vet that served in Vietnam in the USMC from 1966 to 1969. My main concern was with regards to proper Milspec sizing. I had an M65 jacket for my service time that has long since been replaced by a surplus one, and although these were available when I was in the Marines, most Marines in Vietnam never got issued a GI surplus jacket. They were also sized to American sizing, and I have gone through numerous surplus ones trying to get an exact size, some to the point that even an XL was just too small for my bulkiness at 6'3", and some jackets are really really really cheap in both construction and the material that is used. I bought this field jacket for a project I am working on, for a re-creation of the BTU military pattern field jacket, one of the very first military clothing designs that ever used nylon. My research indicated this would be closest to what was available in Vietnam, as there was an intermediate design of sorts between what was originally issued to Vietnam Vets and what we had been issued in the past and then finally retired in the mid-80's. This Rothco jacket has all the pockets, buttons down the front, Velcro on the cuffs and pockets, heavy rip-stop nylon and an inner liner. There are differences, as this jacket has an inner liner which the original had no such material in it. As well, this has buttons on the inside of the pockets which is just odd, as the original design didn't have that. I bought a standard small, which fit as expected for my frame. This Rothco M65 has really changed my mind on field jackets, as for once I have a well-fitting, rugged and reasonably priced field jacket that is true to the specs and size I have grown to prefer.

very nice field jacket. well made. fits well (medium regular). good jacket to own for the fall and spring. I like mine! got a lot of complements. only gripe is the waist strap buckle and release button are cheap. if you like your jacket to stay put, you will have to replace it with something more permanent and durable.

The Jacket arrived in two large boxes, the inner jacket in a smaller one. When opened I found a very nice, sturdy piece of clothing. All the material seems thick and strong. There is also a plastic tag on it indicating it is water resistant. I am looking forward to the colder weather and my long awaited "look." If it keeps it warm in Michigan, 8000 to 10000 ft in the mountains of Colorado it should be fine. I also liked the zippered breast pocket with two pockets inside of it, there is also a similar inside pocket on the sleeve for cellphone and such. All in all I am happy and would purchase this product again. If it holds up as it looks to be, a great deal. The item is NOT to "large", a tape measure will be used to make sure it is my true size as all clothing needs to be. If the fit is off it will get returned, otherwise I will give 5 STARS and order more! This is not a junk piece of clothing!

Quality jacket, seems to run a little small in size, I wear a L in all jackets, I ordered a XL and it is still a bit snug

I'm 6'2" and 210 lbs. The Large size is spot on. This thing is extremely warm and comfortable. I took this on a road trip to Arizona and California, ranging from 30 to 70 F temperatures, it was comfortable. If you want to stay warm this thing is amazing. The hood works very well. There is also some velcro on the sleeves to hold it in place. It does shrink a bit after a couple washes but I just stretch it out and let it air dry. High quality. Looks and wears well.

I really like this M-65 field jacket. I think Rothco has improved the quality of their clothing since the Vietnam war era. This jacket seems very well made and is warm and comfy. If you want something in the middle between an unlined sports jacket and a bomber-style jacket, this is it.

Great quality! This is an excellent coat. I'm going to order a dark brown one soon. Perfect for all seasons. Warm in winter and has a detachable liner! The arm pockets are very roomy and can fit my iPad mini and it has pockets for everything. My brother wanted me to make his brown one. I'm not giving it up! Love it!!

This is very well made, it’s roomy and the pockets have button flaps to keep things from falling out. The liner is removable and has loops to secure it in place on the outside of the jacket. If I had any criticism, the velcro that holds the pocket flaps is very bulky. If you remove the liner, it would be best to cover the velcro with a small piece of matching or similar colored cord.

Very warm in sub zero temps, not a problem at all in a blowing snowstorm.

I bought this to have a classic field jacket like the one worn by my Dad. I like it so much that I bought a second one. I'm very pleased with it. I'm 6'3" and 240 lbs and usually wear a size 42 jacket. I ordered the 4X and the fit is perfect. I wear an undershirt and the jacket goes well with it. I think that this jacket is very well made and it looks great. I have received a lot of compliments on it. If you want a classic military jacket, this is it.

Very comfortable even in hot temperatures in florida. Gonna love it. If I do not I will come back and change this. Update 11/1/16 LOVE it

My son loves this jacket! The material seems sturdy and the jacket is nice and roomy! It fits true to size.

A tad large but fits after taking up some slack on the side laces. Zipper isn't quiet and isn't lined so that it slides freely. Otherwise I'm happy with it.

I was a little hesitant about this particular coat because I've bought some cheap coats that weren't that great, so when I received this I didn't think much of it because it was a little thinner then I expected. But when I put it on I was absolutely amazed by the fit, comfort, and how good the coat felt. I bought a large, and it fit very comfortably with room for another layer underneath if I needed it. The first thing I did was run to walmart to buy a couple of hoodies to layer underneath. The sleeves on this jacket go past my fingertips. If I needed to layer gloves with it I'd have enough length to fit. There's an interior button pocket that will hold an entire wallet (as well as one on the exterior) the interior lining of the jacket isn't thin and cheaply made, it feels more like the type of cloth you'd expect in a regular sport jacket. There's plenty of room in the pocket for hats, sunglasses, and gloves as well as pens and what not. The best part is that when it comes time to wash this jacket, it doesn't feel like it's gonna disintegrate. It's an all around great product, I would definitely recommend this to anybody.

I AM SIX FOOT FIVE AND HAVE A LARGE BODY BUT LONG ARMS. I AM HAPPY WITH THE SIZE AND THE WAY IT FITS. AS LONG AS I WEAR IT LOOSELY IT IS VERY COMFORTABLE.

Jacket is very well made, especially considering the price. Very similar to what I was issued in 1988. It's only let down by being cut a little larger than issued.

Good quality for the price. If it had zipper pockets, I would give it 5 stars. Only complaint is Velcro is stiff. It will wear out before anything else. But otherwise a very good product. Very warm. Great value.

The only way this would be a better coat is if it was sewn together with Kevlar thread.
