Founded by Steve Troy, Troy Industries is a leading United States Government contractor noted for its innovative development and manufacture of reliable, high-performance small arms components, accessories and upgrades. Dedicated to providing the military, law enforcement agencies and civilians with products guaranteed to function when lives are on the line, Troy Industries believes that their products set the industry standard for quality and durability. As such, it should come as no surprise that Troy Industries products are incorporated into the designs for a number of established manufacturers, including: Heckler & Koch; Smith & Wesson; Sturm, Ruger & Company; and many more. Additionally, Troy Industries takes pride in their lifetime guarantee – a guarantee that each American-made Troy Industries product will provide a lifetime of trouble-free use while warranting against defects in materials and workmanship, including the new Troy FBSFHBT02 front folding sight.
Ordinarily, I would advise firearm owners to seek out original, factory-produced accessories for their firearms rather than purchasing aftermarket accessories. Generally speaking, it is beneficial to seek out these original, factory-produced accessories as they are manufactured by the same company, to the exact same specifications and tolerances as those that ship with the firearms for which they are designed. Additionally, they are manufactured using the same materials, a provision which ensures both proper fit and function in conjunction with your firearm. However, back-up iron sights are one of the most often upgraded accessories, and when the alternative is a Troy BattleSight, you can rest assured that you are getting a replacement front sight marked by its quality and durability.
As noted, the Troy FBSFHBT02 front folding sight is a back-up iron sight from the company's "BattleSight" line. Developed specifically for use with the AR-15 platform, each front folding sight is compatible with all MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rails, and is designed to be mounted on same-plane rail systems alongside the rear sight. As such, this front folding sight will not work with a railed gas block that is higher or lower than the receiver. Constructed from 4140 chrome-moly steel with a black oxide finish for protection against rust and corrosion, each front folding sight features a standard, adjustable A2 front sight post with a Tritium insert that makes shooting in poor lighting conditions simple. The sight can be adjusted with either the tip of a 5.56x45mm NATO or .223 Remington bullet, or an A2 front sight adjustment tool. Deployment requires the sight be folded up, while a button must be depressed to return the sight to a folded position.
