US Military Large Field Pack

US Army Large Ruck

This is the US Army's large field pack, the main rucksack a soldier carries when a mission needs more than a day's kit. It moves a heavy load onto your hips through a molded frame and padded belt, so your shoulders do less of the work. Hunters, backpackers, preppers and collectors of Army-issue gear use it for multi-day loads and bulky equipment.

Features

• Genuine US Army Issue — This pack was made for and issued by the US Army, not built for the commercial market.
• ACU Digital Camouflage — The fabric is printed in the Army's Universal Camouflage Pattern, the grey, tan and green pixelated design worn with the Army Combat Uniform.
• Molded Frame — A rigid grey polymer frame runs the length of the back and carries the pack's weight down to the hip belt.
• Padded Hip Belt — A wide padded waist belt with a center quick-release buckle puts most of the load on your hips.
• Adjustable Shoulder Straps — Padded straps with a sternum strap, which clips across the chest, keep the pack centered and stop the straps from sliding outward.
• MOLLE-Compatible PALS Webbing — Rows of nylon loops across the front let you attach pouches and accessories wherever you want them.
• Side Sustainment Pouches — A pouch on each side holds water, food or small gear you want to reach without opening the main bag.
• Buckled Top Lid — The top flap closes over the main compartment with straps and quick-release buckles.
• External Compression Straps — Straps around the body cinch a partial load down tight and can hold a bedroll or jacket on the outside.

Built To Army Spec

The pack is assembled from camouflage nylon, nylon webbing and plastic hardware, with the frame, harness and belt made as separate parts that work together as one carry system. The PALS webbing takes standard MOLLE pouches from other military and commercial makers. Because it was issued by the US Army, it is the original government article, which matters to collectors, reenactors and anyone who wants a ruck built to a military requirement.
