The US Military Cold Weather Fleece Jacket Gen III is a jacket that is designed to fight the cold yet be lightweight and comfortable. Soldiers who have worn this jacket can attest to this jacket being just that, lightweight, comfortable, and extremely effective at fighting the cold.
This military fleece jacket has a style that goes well with the high performance cold fighting characteristics. There are many commercial options for polar fleece jackets, yet few can match the performance of the military issue cold weather fleece jacket. The lack of a camouflage pattern or any unit designation on these jackets allows them to easily be worn in civilian settings without any issues.

I don't know how anyone could call this a cold weather jacket. It will serve as a spring or fall jacket if the sun is out. Speaking of which, if you hold it up to the sun, daylight comes through. It looks nice, it's soft and comfortable but it's not great. If you compare it to the French Foreign Legion fleece (which is the closest thing you could compare it to), it's not half as good. That one can be worn alone as a winter jacket and is almost windproof. So I like it and will wear it again this fall but probably not after the leaves fall.
As advertised, this is the genuine US military issue jacket. I have been burned by other vendors selling "USGI" items that were in fact cheap knock-offs. Keep Shooting has never let me down. NSN (Medium Regular): 8415-01-580-1341
Almost new or maybe it is new? Fit is just slightly large. Ordered medium. I'm 5'9" and 153#s but would rather have it like this than" slightly small."
This will be perfect for layering or stand alone on a cool day. It's a whole lot warmer than a sweatshirt that's for sure. Very pleased.
Made of Polartec 100 material that makes this great for a mid-layer garment or a outer layer in milder temps. I removed the rectangular grip strips to make a less mil spec garment. I plan to use on early morning paddleboarding outings. I ordered a foliage medium for my 5'7" 34" waist that leaves room for a tee shirt. The fit is spot on.
I like the jacket while indoors in winter, and as a mid layer under a parka or shell in cold weather outdoors. Very comfortable. Even with the tall size, I am six two and would like another inch or more in the torso length. Sleeves are fine.
Good shape , just a little pilling. Easily passes as a civilian jacket. Fits perfect under my british desert camo smock when the weather is a bit nippy.
