US Military Wet Weather Poncho Liner

The U.S. Military Wet Weather Poncho Liner — the legendary "woobie" — is genuine GI-issue field gear built to MIL-L-43335 specification. Constructed from a ripstop nylon shell quilted around 100% polyester batting, it delivers reliable insulation that keeps working even when soaked. Measuring roughly 5 ft x 7 ft with foliage green edge binding and corner ties, it lashes to a standard military poncho for layered wet-weather warmth or stands alone as a blanket, bag liner, or ground cover. A proven piece of kit for soldiers, hunters, campers, preppers, and anyone who spends serious time outdoors.

Description

Features

  1. Genuine USGI Issue — Authentic U.S. military contract Liner, Wet Weather Poncho (NSN 8405-01-547-2559), the original field item soldiers call the "woobie."
  2. Ripstop Nylon Shell — Tightly woven ripstop nylon outer resists tears, snags, and abrasion in rough field use.
  3. 100% Polyester Batting — Quilted polyester fill traps body heat and continues to insulate even when wet.
  4. Approx. 5 ft x 7 ft — Full adult coverage as a blanket, bag liner, or ground throw — roughly 62 in. by 82 in.
  5. Foliage Green Binding — Reinforced edge tape in foliage green frames the panel and prevents fraying.
  6. Corner and Center Ties — Nylon cord ties at the corners and midpoints lash the liner to a standard poncho for layered wet-weather warmth.
  7. Quilted Through-Stitching — Diamond-pattern stitching keeps batting evenly distributed so it won't bunch or shift after repeated use.
  8. Lightweight and Packable — Compresses small enough to stash in a ruck, assault pack, or vehicle kit without eating up real estate.
  9. Multi-Use Field Gear — Doubles as a blanket, sleeping bag liner, ground cover, sunshade, or improvised stretcher pad.
  10. Made in the USA — Manufactured to MIL-L-43335 specification by U.S. government contractors.

This is the genuine article not some cheap knockoff. You can tell by the stitching and the material. I used it as a poncho liner on a rainy overnight hike and it kept me warm and dry underneath my poncho. The size gives good coverage. Ive heard some people say the pattern fades after a few washes but mine still looks great after 3 washes. If you want a real woobie just get this one.

I was bit disappointed in the condition of both that I purchased. Loose threads, faded, obviously worn.

    Still useful.

Wish it were in better condition.

The one I received was of absolutely great quality...no obvious signs of use or deterioration in any places. And the cost is so much better than what they ask for them in most milsurp stores or online, how can you go wrong? I like to have one for each member of my family, plus keep one in my get-home bag or in the truck for emergency needs, romantic or otherwise (haha)....seriously, they make great camping or picnic blankets, hold up very well to the rough wear & tear of my young children, and my own personal belief is you can't own too many (especially at this price).
