USSR First Aid Case

Soviet Field First Aid Case

This is a USSR first aid case issued to the Soviet Army: a boxy, canvas-covered medical case that carries on a shoulder strap and opens flat like a book. Inside, rows of elastic loops hold vials, bandage rolls and small instruments in place so they don't end up loose in the bottom of a bag. It suits collectors of Soviet kit and reenactors who need correct field medical gear, and it also works as a trauma or first aid kit case for the car, cabin or range bag.

Features

• Soviet Army Issue — Originally produced for the armed forces of the USSR, so this is the genuine article and not a later copy.
• Canvas-Covered Structured Body — Olive green canvas is stretched over a boxy frame that keeps its shape, which protects the contents better than a soft pouch.
• Red Cross Emblem — A white disc with a red cross on the front flap marks the case as medical equipment at a glance.
• Riveted Construction — Metal rivets at the corners of the front panel and through the interior fittings hold the case together.
• Buckle Strap Closure — A short strap with a metal buckle on the top edge keeps the case shut while you carry it.
• Book-Style Opening — The case opens flat into two halves, so you can see and reach every item at once.
• Elastic Retention Loops — Black elastic strips riveted in rows inside hold vials, ampoules and small tools upright and separate.
• Clear Lid Pocket — A transparent sleeve inside the lid holds a contents chart or reference card where you can read it without removing it.
• Adjustable Webbing Shoulder Strap — A long khaki cotton webbing strap with a metal slide buckle lets you wear the case over the shoulder or across the body.

Original Soviet Issue

The case follows the plain, practical Soviet approach to field gear: canvas, cotton webbing, steel hardware and rivets, with nothing added for looks. It shows how the Soviet Army packed basic medical supplies, which makes it a good display piece next to other USSR equipment. Because it is genuine issue, it gives a collection or impression real provenance that a modern lookalike can't.
