Description
Extended Mag Release
The Volquartsen Extended Magazine Release replaces the small factory release on a Ruger 10/22. Instead of reaching up under the stock to nudge the stock lever, you push forward on this longer paddle and the magazine drops free. That makes reloads faster and easier to do without breaking your position, which matters whether you are plinking through boxes of ammo or shooting a match off a rest.
Features
- Push-Forward Release — You release the magazine by pushing the lever forward rather than pushing up on the cramped factory tab, which is quicker and more natural under the trigger guard.
- CNC-Machined Steel — Cut from solid billet steel rather than cast, so there are no casting seams or voids to wear or crack.
- 0.550 Inch Extension — The paddle reaches 0.550 inches below the trigger guard housing, giving your finger a larger, easier target to hit.
- Drop-In Fit — It installs in place of the factory release without gunsmithing, fitting, or permanent changes to the rifle.
- Benchrest Clearance — The profile is shaped to stay clear of a sandbag or front rest, so it will not catch when you shoot off a bench.
- Works With Factory Mags — It releases standard Ruger factory 10/22 magazines, so you can keep using the magazines you already own.
- 10/22 And 10/22 Magnum — Fits both the Ruger 10/22 and the 10/22 Magnum platform.
- Black Finish — Finished in matte black to match the look of a stock receiver and controls.
Build And Fit
Volquartsen machines this release from billet steel, the same approach they use across their 10/22 parts line. It swaps directly for the factory release, so the only tools you need are those to disassemble your rifle for the change. If you have found the stock magazine release awkward to reach or slow to use, this is the common first upgrade that fixes it.
