550 Paracord 100ft - Safety Orange - Rothco

Safety Orange 550 Paracord

This is a 100 ft hank of Rothco Type III 550 nylon paracord in safety orange. Use it for tie-downs, shelter lines, gear lashing, bootlace replacements and paracord crafts. The bright orange is easy to find in a pack or on the ground, and easy to see strung between trees, so it works well for marking a trail or a campsite boundary.

Features

• 550 LB Test Rating — The cord is rated to hold 550 pounds before breaking, which is where the "550" name comes from.
• Type III Classification — Type III is the paracord class built around the 550 lb rating, the most common general-purpose grade.
• 7-Strand Inner Core — Seven inner yarns run inside the braided outer sheath, and you can pull them out for use as sewing thread, snare line or fishing line.
• 100% Nylon Construction — Nylon is strong for its weight and has a little stretch, so knots bed down and loads are absorbed without snapping.
• 100 Ft Hank — The cord comes bundled in a 100 foot length, enough for several projects or one large shelter setup.
• Safety Orange Color — The high-visibility orange stands out against foliage, snow and dirt, which helps with signaling, marking and spotting dropped gear.
• Commercial Grade — This is commercial paracord sold for civilian use, not cord made under a military contract specification.
• Made In The USA — It is produced in the United States by a certified US government contractor.

Construction And Origin

Rothco sells this cord under its G.I. Plus label. It has a braided nylon sheath over a 7-strand core, and the packaging rates it at 550 lb test. It is made in the USA by a certified US government contractor. Paracord is utility cord, so do not use it for climbing, rappelling or any other load that supports a person.
