Chocolate Chip BDU Shorts

Rothco's 6 Color Desert Camo Shorts take the cut of GI-style BDU trousers (Battle Dress Uniform, the standard US field uniform pattern) and stop it just above the knee for hot-weather wear. They are printed in six-color desert camouflage, the brown, tan and spotted pattern nicknamed "chocolate chip" and long associated with the first Gulf War. Six pockets give you room for a phone, keys, a knife and range essentials. They suit range days, trail use, field work and anyone building a desert-era kit.

• Cotton-Poly Twill — A 55% cotton, 45% polyester twill, a tight diagonal weave that pairs cotton's comfort with polyester's resistance to wear and shrinkage.
• Two Side Cargo Pockets — Large bellowed pockets on each thigh close under a flap to keep gear from bouncing out.
• Two Front Slash Pockets — Angled hand pockets at the hips are easy to reach while standing or walking.
• Two Rear Button-Down Pockets — Flapped back pockets fasten with a button to secure a wallet or notebook.

Fabric and Fit

The 55/45 cotton-polyester twill gives these shorts a firmer hand than plain cotton and helps them keep their shape after washing. The cut follows BDU trousers, with a straight leg and a hem that sits just above the knee, as shown on the model. Side adjustment tabs fine-tune the waist between sizes, and the belt loops take a standard belt for carrying a holster or pouches. They are a commercial Rothco product and are imported.
