A threaded barrel left bare is easy to damage. One knock against a bench or holster edge can burr the threads, and then a suppressor or compensator will not spin on cleanly. This Backup Tactical thread protector screws onto a 1/2x28 muzzle and covers those threads whenever nothing else is mounted. It suits owners of threaded 9mm and .22LR pistols who want the muzzle protected and dressed in red, white and blue.

Fit And Materials

Check your barrel's thread pitch before ordering. This protector is cut for 1/2x28 only and will not fit barrels threaded in metric pitches such as M13.5x1 LH or in 1/2x36. Backup Tactical machines it from 7075 aluminum, which resists the scuffs and bumps a muzzle collects in a holster or range bag.
