CRKT
Innovative Knives & Tools Since 1994
Columbia River Knife & Tool built its name by turning the work of custom knifemakers into production blades everyone can carry. At Keep Shooting we stock four CRKT designs, each from a named maker: the A.G. Russell Sting boot dagger, the Alan Folts S.P.E.W. Wharncliffe, the Ryan Johnson Woods Chogan T-Hawk, and the CST combat stripping tool for first responders. Smart designs, hard-use steel.
About CRKT
CRKT — Columbia River Knife & Tool — is one of the most inventive names in production cutlery, and the four pieces we carry at Keep Shooting show its range, from a boot dagger to a camp tomahawk. Find them all with the rest of our knives and tools.
Custom Designs, Production-Built
CRKT was founded in 1994 in Tualatin, Oregon, by Paul Gillespie and Rod Bremer — two industry veterans who had both come out of Kershaw and believed the most exciting future for production knives lay in custom knifemakers’ designs. They built the company around collaboration, partnering with names like Ken Onion, Kit Carson, and many others, and broke through at the 1997 SHOT Show when Ed Halligan’s K.I.S.S. knife sold a full year’s production in the opening days. That model — pairing thoughtful engineering with ideas born at custom workbenches — is exactly why every CRKT we stock carries a designer’s name on it.
The Blades & Tools We Carry
Two of our four are fixed blades. The CRKT Sting is an A.G. Russell-designed boot dagger with a 3.2″ double-edged 1050 carbon spear point and a black powder coat — a classic, low-profile carry knife. The Folts S.P.E.W. (Small Pocket Everyday Wharncliffe) is Alan Folts’ full-tang 5Cr15MoV neck knife with a G10 handle and a thermoplastic sheath that rides on a lanyard or pocket clip. Both belong in our fixed-blade knives. For the woods, the Woods Chogan T-Hawk is a Ryan Johnson design with a hot-forged 1055 carbon head, a hammer poll, and a 19″ Tennessee hickory handle — a proper camp tomahawk. And the Combat Stripping Tool is the odd one out in the best way: a first-responder rescue multitool with a replaceable razor, an oxygen-tank wrench, and a cm scale in a MOLLE sheath — one to keep with your first-aid gear.
Pair It Up
CRKT shares plenty of Oregon DNA with Kershaw — where its founders got their start — and with Gerber, so those are natural places to keep browsing, along with the rugged fixed blades from Cold Steel. Whichever blade you choose, keep its edge true with a Lansky sharpener. Every CRKT order ships from Keep Shooting with fast handling and our satisfaction guarantee.
