Peerless Handcuff Company
Duty Restraints Since 1914
Peerless invented the swing-through handcuff in 1914, and it’s been the law-enforcement standard ever since. At Keep Shooting we carry the Model 750C chain-link cuff in five colors plus the extended 700C-6X — all forged steel, NIJ-certified, double-locking, and made in the USA. The original name in restraints, still family-owned after a century.
About Peerless Handcuff Company
Peerless is the company that invented the modern handcuff, and at Keep Shooting we carry its chain-link handcuffs — the color-coded Model 750C and the extended 700C-6X, NIJ-certified and made in the USA.
A Century of the Swing-Through Cuff
Peerless Handcuff Company was founded in 1914 in Springfield, Massachusetts by James Milton Gill — a businessman who also served as the city’s Police Commissioner. Gill was approached by an inventor named George Carney, whose swing-through handcuff was unlike anything else on the market: light, easy to carry, and quick to apply with a single hand. Gill bought the patent rights and began selling it under the Peerless name, and it rendered the heavy, clumsy restraints of the era obsolete almost overnight. More than a century later that same swing-through design is still the industry standard, and Peerless remains a fourth-generation family business building restraints in the United States.
The 750C Color-Coded Line
The Model 750C takes the classic Peerless chain-link cuff and adds a tough, rust-resistant colored EPP finish. We stock all five colors — pink, blue, yellow, orange, and red — each forged from carbon steel with a push-pin double lock, NIJ 0307.01 certification, two keys, and a lifetime warranty. Color isn’t just for looks: agencies use it to classify detainees, organize a cuff inventory, and keep restraints highly visible, which is exactly why colored handcuffs are becoming so popular. Pick up a spare double-lock handcuff key while you’re here.
Built for Duty — and Every Wrist
Standard cuffs don’t fit everyone, so the 700C-6X adds eight chain links — about 5.5 inches between the bracelets — to comfortably and securely restrain larger suspects, with the same forged-steel build, nickel finish, and double lock. Carry a set on your belt in a MOLLE handcuff pouch, and round out the duty belt with police batons and pepper spray from the rest of our tactical gear. Comparing options? We also stock Smith & Wesson restraints and covert Zak Tool and Shomer-Tec handcuff keys. Every Peerless order ships from Keep Shooting with fast handling and our satisfaction guarantee.
