Czech URG 86-SK Inert Grenade

Czech Army Training Grenade

The URG 86-SK is the inert training version of the Czech Army's URG 86 hand grenade. Soldiers used it to practice handling, throwing and the pin-pull drill without any explosive charge. The SK suffix marks it as the school model. Today it suits collectors of Czech military ordnance, reenactors who need a correct-pattern grenade, and anyone building a display of issued kit.

Features

• Inert SK School Version — The SK designation identifies the training model issued for instruction, and it carries no explosive charge.
• All-Black Inert Finish — The body and fuze are finished in black, which is the Czech military convention for marking inert ordnance.
• Segmented Grip Body — A raised grid of grooves runs around the body and gives the hand a firm hold during throwing drills.
• Safety Lever And Pull Ring — A hinged safety lever lies along the side of the body, held in place by a pin with a steel pull ring, so the full pin-pull sequence can be rehearsed.
• Dual-Mode Fuze Design — The URG 86 uses a toggle selector to choose between impact detonation and a 4 to 6 second delay, which lets one grenade serve both offensive and defensive roles.
• Original Stenciled Markings — The top of the lever carries yellow stripes and the stenciled markings SK and 1/91.
• Compact Dimensions — It stands 4.6 in (117 mm) tall with an average diameter of about 2.4 in (60 mm).
• Realistic Training Weight — At about 15.5 oz (440 g) with the fuze assembly fitted, it has real heft in the hand for throwing practice.

Original SK Specification

This is Czech Army issue, built as the school counterpart to the service URG 86, a universal grenade designed for both offensive and defensive use. The training model keeps the service grenade's shape, lever, pin and ring so recruits learned on the same layout they would carry. Because it is genuine issued equipment, the stenciling and black inert finish are the army's own markings, which is what sets it apart on a shelf or in a reenactment kit.
