Great canteen set for the priceEverything fits together nice and tight, the camo pattern is iconic. You cant beat surplus prices for gear like this.

UniqueThe Strichtarn pattern is cool and the aluminum canteen is lightweight. I use it when I go to reenactments. Only issue is the paint on the canteen chipped a little, nothing major though.

Great surplus find!For the price this thing is a steal, I was expecting something junky but it actually feels really solid and well made. The camo cover has some fading on mine which is totally fine since its genuine surplus and not reproduction stuff, gives it character honestly. I used the cup to heat up some soup over a camp stove and it worked perfectly, no issues at all.

Love it!This is a great piece of Cold War history for my collection. The Strichtarn pattern is unique and looks like rain drops on the cover. I am happy that it is an authentic East German surplus item. The aluminum cup included is a nice touch for the set. It is in good condition considering it was made many years ago. If you want a functional item with historical meaning, this is the one.
