Proper French surplusThese are actual military shorts, not fashion. Heavy fabric, real cargo pockets, adjustable waist. The CCE pattern is weirdly effective in my backyard green bushes, brown mulch, grey deck, I blend in standing still. Not that I need to, but it's funny. Wore them to Home Depot, got asked if I was "in the service" three times. Explained they're French surplus, got blank looks. Whatever. They're comfortable, pockets hold everything, fabric breathes in heat. Mine were clearly issued, some fading, one button replaced with a different color. Adds character. Washed them twice, softened up, still going strong. The adjustable waist let me wear them with or without a belt, handy for post-burger expansion.

Perfect for spring and summer in FL.I own several pieces of French military surplus and the quality is always impressive but these F2 shorts might be my favorite piece yet. The CCE woodland camo is the pattern the French Army has used for decades and it looks fantastic in person with rich greens and browns that photograph really well too. The construction is what you would expect from European military manufacturing with tight stitching reinforced stress points and quality hardware on the snaps and zipper. The two front pockets are standard depth but the two snap closed hip pockets are extra deep which is a smart design choice for soldiers who need to secure items during movement. I wore them to a barbecue last weekend and got nothing but compliments. At 35 dollars for authentic made in France military shorts in virtually unused condition this is an easy purchase for anyone who appreciates quality gear with real military heritage.
