I had read a lot of good things about this tool before I bought it. I'm glad I bought it. I use it to keep under my pack. This thing really works great for making potties when you have no where to dig. The shovel works well and the spade end is the perfect size for potties. It is also easy to unfold and clean. I am very happy with this purchase. The price is right too.

I've used this to dig holes, use the shovel head to split firewood, even clean some fire-pits and it's very versatile. The only issue is that it can't cut through metal cans very well.

Bought two, one to leave in the Jeep the other to have at the cabin. Strong, works great for digging. Love that its Gerber, but I don't see the point in having it hanging from the Jeep ceiling for months and never using it, I'll wait until next time I'm up north and then bury the handle

Well-made folding shovel. Use it often when hiking and camper-tacking in mountain and canyon areas, very handy. The smaller size makes this a perfect tool to take backpacking. Great for creating fire pit/fire hole for use in camping and if ever stuck without the luxury of sticks for the more traditional method of using a fire-stick/metal poker. Heavy duty steel makes this the best value around for a folding shovel. I use this for the best part it was made for, using it as a shovel, not as a knife.

A nice addition to your pack. Sturdy construction. Good locking mechanism. Well made. I used it to shovel a fire pit, of course. Would have worked for just about anything. Would buy again.

I bought this to use in my bug out bag and it's perfect. It is very lightweight but still has good strength. The only downside is that the handle isn't as sturdy as some other shovels I have used but it works well enough.
