This is a canvas rucksack issued to the Romanian Army, built from olive green cotton duck with tan leather straps, trim and fittings. It is a simple top-loading pack: one main compartment under a buckled flap, an outside pocket, and leather shoulder straps you can adjust. Collectors and reenactors buy it for its provenance. Bushcrafters and day hikers buy it because canvas and leather hold up to field use and can be repaired.

Features

Original Army Build

This pack was made for the Romanian military, not for the outdoor retail market, and it shows in the materials: canvas, leather and steel hardware, without plastic buckles or nylon webbing. A leather panel across the top of the back takes the strain where the shoulder straps are riveted on. If something gives out, any leatherworker or cobbler can stitch or re-punch it. That is a big part of why issued kit like this stays in use for so long.
