As the reviewers have stated it has no head hole or marking. There is no "correct" side up so I choose the right one by looking for the "thumb" of color and I found it on both the ends and the middle part (left-right of color changes).

Excellent. I purchased two of these, they are good quality, soft and absorbent. The tassels at the ends come out of the package and provide the added protection. Very pleased. The color was just as depicted.

I really like the Rothco products that I have bought from the Rothco site, but this Shemagh was bought on Amazon. I got a bad Shemagh and luckily was able to send it back. Amazon sent me a replacement that is of better quality. The product is really sturdy and it was exactly as described. It was a perfect size and color.
