The Wind Storm is a compact emergency whistle for situations where shouting won't carry: lost on a trail, in the water, or calling for help over wind and engine noise. A whistle takes far less breath than yelling and keeps working after your voice gives out. It comes from the maker of the Storm whistle and is marked as adopted by the U.S. military. Hikers, hunters, boaters, divers, lifeguards, game officials and first responders all carry one.

Build And Materials

The whistle is a single molded piece of high-impact thermoplastic, 2 5/8 inches long and weighing about 0.05 pounds, light enough to clip on and forget about until you need it. It has no metal parts to corrode and is built to work in any weather. The packaging carries a warning that it is extremely loud, so keep it out of reach of children.
