Hogue
Family-Made in California Since 1968
Hogue has been making firearms feel better in the hand since 1968 — a California family company famous for its rubberized OverMolded grips and stocks. At Keep Shooting we carry Hogue’s drop-in AR-15 stocks and grip kit, the Remington 870 stock-and-forend kit, and the Ballista I automatic knife — the same no-nonsense build quality, whether it’s on your rifle or in your pocket.
About Hogue
Hogue is one of the most trusted names in grips and stocks, and at Keep Shooting we carry its drop-in OverMolded AR-15 stocks, a Remington 870 stock kit, and the Ballista I automatic knife — four pieces that all share the same hand-filling, hard-use philosophy.
From an LAPD Officer’s Workbench
Hogue started in 1968 with a cop and a problem. Guy Hogue, an officer with the Los Angeles Police Department, began making pistol grips that actually fit his hand — then grips for the officers around him. They caught on so completely that he left law enforcement to build them full-time. More than half a century later the company is still family-owned and run from Paso Robles, California, with Guy’s sons Aaron and Patrick carrying it forward. Along the way Hogue became best known for its OverMolded construction — a tough rubber skin molded over a rigid core that gives a sure, cushioned grip in any weather — and that same idea runs through the stocks on this page.
OverMolded Stocks for Rifle and Shotgun
For the AR-15, the OverMolded Collapsible Stock drops onto any mil-spec buffer tube and adds a rubber cheek weld and a recoil-absorbing buttpad; step up to the Stock with Pistol Grip Kit to match it with a beavertail, finger-groove grip for a complete OverMolded back end — both live in our AR-15 parts. For the scattergun, the Remington 870 Stock & Forend Kit wraps a fiberglass-reinforced core in non-slip rubber and sets a compact 12″ length of pull — a great fit for a home-defense 870, and one you can find alongside our other Remington 870 parts. Weighing 870 options? The Blackhawk Knoxx stock is the recoil-reducing alternative, and we stock AR furniture from Magpul and UTG too.
Beyond the Bench: The Ballista Knife
Hogue also makes serious knives, and we carry the Ballista I automatic knife — a button-actuated auto folder with a 3.5″ partially serrated 154CM tanto blade in a black Cerakote finish, riding in a matte 6061-T6 aluminum frame with a manual safety. It snaps open with authority and sits right at home in our automatic knives, next to blades from Cold Steel and CRKT in the wider knives and tools catalog. (Check your local laws on automatic knives before ordering.) Every Hogue order ships from Keep Shooting with fast handling and our satisfaction guarantee.
