Bundeswehr Grenade Case

This is a genuine German Army storage and transport case, built to carry ten DM51 hand grenades for the Bundeswehr, the armed forces of the Federal Republic of Germany. It is sold as an empty case. With its molded recesses and divided tray it works well as a rugged organizer for tools, hardware, fishing tackle or small parts. Collectors and reenactors want it for the original stenciled issue markings on the lid.

Issue Markings And Build

The lid stencil reads "GV 30, 10 Granate, Hand, DM51A1, Spreng/Splitter," which identifies a container for ten DM51A1 blast and fragmentation hand grenades, followed by the DM82A1B1 grenade fuze and an RHE lot code. These markings were applied for military logistics and are part of what separates issued kit from commercial storage boxes. The construction follows the same plain, functional pattern as other Bundeswehr ammunition packaging: a two-piece hinged shell, molded inserts and a built-in handle, with nothing added that the original role did not need.
