Ka-Bar Playing Cards
This is a deck of playing cards from Ka-Bar, the knife maker best known for the fighting knife carried by US Marines since World War II. The cards and box are designed to look like a wartime-issue deck, with aged tan faces and a Standard Issue tuck box. They work for a card game in camp, at the range or at home, and they make an easy gift for a Ka-Bar collector or a veteran.
Features
- Standard Issue Tuck Box — The folding card box is printed in olive drab with "Ka-Bar Knives, Inc," "Standard Issue Playing Cards" and "U.S. Permit 1217 Dec. 1941" in the style of a 1940s military deck.
- Skull And Crossed Knives Back — Each card back shows a skull over two crossed fighting knives on a distressed olive green field, with the Ka-Bar name across the top.
- Aged Parchment Card Faces — The faces are printed in a worn tan tone with darkened edges, so a new deck looks like it has been through a deployment.
- Skull-Themed Ace Of Spades — The ace of spades carries a skull worked into the center pip instead of the usual ornamental design.
- Custom Court Cards — The face cards use skull artwork, including a jack drawn as a crowned skull in red.
- Traditional Suits And Indices — Standard spades, hearts, diamonds and clubs with corner indices keep the deck playable for any regular card game.
- Ka-Bar Branding — The Ka-Bar logo appears on the box and on every card back, which suits collectors of the brand.
Design And Use
The "Standard Issue" and 1941 permit markings are a design reference to WWII-era decks, not a claim that the cards are military surplus. Underneath the styling it is a regular deck with standard suits, so it plays like any other set of cards. It is a commercial Ka-Bar product, sold new.
