New M1A Owner, This Helped AlotI just got my first Springfield M1A Standard about 3 months ago and after reading on the M14 Forum that you should clean the gas piston after a couple hundred rounds, i realized i had no idea how to actually get the gas system apart. Apparently the gas cylinder is made of pretty soft stainless steel and you can bend or dent it if you just go at it with pliers or a screwdriver... which is exactly what i almost did lol. This wrench makes it straightforward, you just fit it over the gas cylinder lock and then use a regular 3/8" socket on the gas plug. Took me a couple tries to figure out the orientation but once i got it, super easy.

Fits the nut perfectlyI finally got this to clean my gas system and it works way better than using a regular wrench. The rubber handle is actually really nice because it does not slip when my hands are oily. It fits the gas cylinder nut perfectly without scratching the finish on my rifle.
