Works like a dreamUsed this on my M1A to loosen the gas plug and it turned it counter clockwise without any issues. The steel wrench protected the finish really well and made the job quick.

My M1A maintenance just got EASYI was honestly skeptical i needed a dedicated wrench for this but after trying to muscle off the gas cylinder plug with improvised tools and nearly scratching everything up i finally bought this and wow what a difference. You just seat the tool on there and turn it counter clockwise and the plug comes right out, no drama no damage. The steel on this thing feels really solid, heavier than i expected which i actually like.

Proper Tool for the JobIf you own an M1A you really need a dedicated gas cylinder wrench... trust me on this. I was using a padded pair of channel locks for years and finally marred the parkerizing on my gas lock. Lesson learned. This Keep Shooting tool is steel which I actually prefer over the Sadlak aluminum wrench (which is nice too, don't get me wrong). It grips the gas cylinder securely so you can hold it while torquing the gas plug to the proper 15 ft-lbs with a 3/8 box end wrench. No slipping, no scarring the finish. Fits my standard USGI spec gas system perfectly. Build quality is solid, the machining is clean with no rough edges or burrs out of the box. If you're doing any kind of gas system maintenance cleaning the piston, swapping parts, whatever just get the right tool and save yourself the headache.
