M14 Rear Sight Assembly
This United Defense rear sight assembly is the complete aperture sight that sits at the back of an M14-pattern receiver. It suits a rifle that is missing its rear sight, a build in progress, or a sight with worn or damaged parts. The assembly gives you an adjustable peep sight, with separate knobs for windage and elevation, so iron sights can be zeroed and used without optics.
Features
- Aperture Rear Sight — A small peep hole at the top of the sight centers your eye naturally, which makes aligning it with the front sight quick and repeatable.
- Graduated Elevation Knob — The right-hand knob carries numbered markings around its rim, so you can raise the aperture for longer distances and return to a known setting.
- Knurled Windage Knob — The left-hand knob moves the aperture side to side to correct for wind or a left/right zero offset.
- Protective Sight Ears — Two curved wings flank the aperture to shield it from knocks and snags.
- Formed Sight Cover — The curved cover plate holds the assembly together and seats it on the receiver.
- Complete Component Set — The assembly includes the cover, aperture, sight base, windage knob and elevation knob with its pinion, the toothed shaft that drives elevation.
- Black Finish — A dark, low-glare finish matches the receiver and keeps reflections off the sight picture.
Fit and Installation
The assembly is built to the M14 rear sight layout and mounts on the sight seat at the rear of an M14-pattern receiver. It comes as a full set rather than individual spares, so you can install it as a unit or use it to replace a single worn component. Once fitted, zero the rifle at your chosen distance and record the knob settings for reference.

Restored My Rifle NiceUsed this to fix up my M14 clone and it was a quick swap at the bench. The aperture and knobs all line up good for range use. One tiny thing is the windage knob was tight at first but now its good to go.

Great upgrade from worn USGI partsMy old rear sight was so beat up the elevation kept jumping around under recoil and I was chasing my zero every range trip. Swapped in this complete assembly and the difference was IMMEDIATE. Be careful when threading the windage knob in because you definitely dont want to cross thread it, I took my time and it went in smooth. The parkerized finish is dark and uniform and honestly looks better than some surplus parts Ive seen. Worth every penny if your old sight is giving you trouble.
