12 Gauge Ripcord Kit

The Otis Ripcord Deluxe is a compact cleaning kit for 12 gauge shotguns. It is built around a pull-through Ripcord, a flexible cable you feed in at the breech (the rear of the barrel) and draw out the muzzle, so there is no rigid rod to assemble. The kit includes the 12 gauge brush and mop, a bottle of CLP, a T-handle and a microfiber cloth, which covers a full bore clean at home, at the range or in the field.

Features

• Pull-Through Ripcord — The cable cleans breech to muzzle in the same direction the shot travels, and it does not rely on gravity to feed down the barrel.
• Nomex Surface — The outer braid is Nomex, a heat-resistant aramid fiber rated to 700°F, so it holds up in a barrel that is still warm from shooting.
• Molded Rubber Core — A shaped rubber section inside the braid presses the cable outward against the bore for full 360-degree contact on each pass.
• Memory-Flex Cable — Otis's wire cable runs through the Ripcord to give it the stiffness needed to feed into the chamber, then flexes for coiled storage.
• 8-32 Threaded Ends — Brass tips carry 8-32 threads, the common thread size for cleaning accessories, so the brush, mop and other compatible attachments screw straight on.
• 12 Gauge Brush and Mop — A bristle bore brush loosens fouling and a cotton mop applies solvent or wipes the bore, and both are marked and sized for 12 gauge.
• Shooter's Choice FP-10 CLP — A 0.5 fl oz (14.7 ml) bottle of FP-10 Lubricant Elite CLP, short for cleaner, lubricant and protectant, handles all three jobs from one bottle.
• T-Handle Grip — The ribbed T-handle slips onto the Ripcord's brass end to give you a firm hold when pulling the cable through a tight or fouled bore.
• Utility Brush — A small blue-bristle brush threads onto the T-handle for scrubbing the action, receiver and other areas the Ripcord cannot reach.
• Microfiber Cleaning Cloth — An Otis microfiber cloth wipes down the exterior metal and stock after cleaning and lubricating.

Construction and Use

Otis Technology makes the kit in the USA. Every component is specific to 12 gauge, so the brush and mop fit the bore correctly with no adapters needed. The Ripcord coils up small, and the whole kit packs into a range bag or vehicle more easily than a full-length rod set. Because the brush, mop and any compatible accessory share the 8-32 thread, you can add parts later without replacing the cable.
