USGI Foam Sleeping Mat

US Army Foam Sleeping Mat

Sleeping straight on the ground pulls heat out of your body all night, and a sleeping bag alone does little to stop it. This USGI foam sleeping mat puts a solid layer of polymer foam between you and the cold, hard ground. USGI is short for US Government Issue, and this pad was made for the US Army. It suits campers, hunters, preppers and anyone building a field kit around issued gear.

Features

• Genuine US Army Issue — This mat was produced for the US military and issued as standard field equipment, not made for the commercial camping market.
• Solid Polymer Foam — The pad is one continuous foam sheet with no air chamber, so there is nothing to inflate and no valve that can leak overnight.
• Ground Insulation — The foam layer slows the heat loss you get when a sleeping bag lies directly on cold ground.
• Roll-Up Design — The mat rolls into a tight cylinder for carrying and unrolls flat when you make camp.
• Attached Tie Tapes — Two fabric tapes stay fixed to the mat and tie around the roll to keep it closed in transit.
• Olive Green Color — The muted military green blends into woodland settings and matches other issued field kit.
• Pack Carry — The rolled mat can be strapped to the outside of a rucksack, leaving room inside the pack for the rest of your gear.
• Multi-Purpose Pad — Away from the sleep system it works as a kneeling pad, a seat on frozen ground or a mat for shooting from the prone position.

Genuine Government Issue

This is the foam pad soldiers carried as part of their sleep system, built to a military requirement rather than a retail price point. It is simple field equipment: foam, two tie tapes and nothing to break. Collectors, reenactors and outdoor users choose it for the same reason, because it is the real issued item.
