Description
Double Carbine Mag Pouch
This is the US Army's double magazine pouch for the M1 Carbine. It carries two spare 15-round .30 Carbine magazines where a soldier could reach them fast. GIs carried it on the equipment belt or slid it over the buttstock, so the reload stayed with the rifle. Collectors, reenactors and carbine owners use it to finish an authentic World War II setup.
Features
- Two-Magazine Capacity — Separate stitched compartments hold one 15-round .30 Carbine magazine each, so the magazines do not rattle against each other.
- Lift-The-Dot Closure — The flap closes on a lift-the-dot fastener, a stud and socket that opens only when you lift the tab from one side and stays shut when the pouch is bumped.
- Cotton Canvas Body — Heavyweight cotton canvas with bound edges, in olive drab (OD green), the standard US Army field color.
- Belt Or Stock Carry — The pouch fastens to the equipment belt or slides over the carbine's buttstock for a reload that stays on the rifle.
- Rear Belt Attachment — A snap attachment on the back secures the pouch to a standard issue equipment belt.
- Fits M1, M1A1, M2 And M3 — The pouch was built around the .30 Carbine magazine, so it suits every carbine model that takes it.
- US Stencil On Flap — Black "US" lettering marks the flap as government property.
- Grommeted Base — Two metal eyelets are set along the bottom edge of the pouch.
Issue Pattern And Fit
The official designation is Pocket, Magazine, Double, Web, For Carbine, Caliber .30, M-1. The US Army and Marine Corps issued it with the carbine during World War II. This is government-issue kit made to the military's own pattern, which is what a reenactor or collector looks for when building a correct carbine rig.

Husband loved it.Saw this pouch and figured why not for his birthday. He opened it and immediately got this huge grin like I'd given him a puppy or something. Anyway he spent the next hour showing me how it slides on the stock and explaining how soldiers used to put these on their belts originally but figured out they fit on the rifle too. It's been three weeks and he still mentions it almost every day. For something that cost less than dinner out, I've never seen him this excited about a gift. If your guy is into old military stuff, this is apparently the way to go.
