Personal Straw Filter

This is a drink-through water filter for when the only water nearby is a stream, pond or questionable tap. Put one end in the water and sip from the other. Five filter layers inside the tube strip out sediment, bacteria and protozoan parasites before the water reaches you. It ships in a zippered hard case that clips to a pack strap, so it rides along on hikes and camping trips and sits ready in a bug-out bag or vehicle kit.

• 5-Stage Filtration — Water passes through a coarse screen, a PP cotton pad, activated carbon, a second PP cotton pad and a hollow fiber membrane, in that order.
• 0.1 Micron Ultrafiltration Membrane — The final stage is a bundle of hollow fibers with pores 0.1 micron wide, small enough to block bacteria and protozoa, and it is rated to remove 99.99999% of them.
• Activated Carbon Stage — A bed of carbon granules cuts chlorine and improves taste and odor.
• 500 ml/min Flow Rate — Maximum flow is about 17 fl oz (500 ml) per minute, so you are not straining to get a drink.
• Rated For 5,000 Liters — One filter is rated to treat up to 5,000 liters (about 1,320 gallons) before replacement.
• Fits 28mm Bottles — The threaded intake end fits standard 28mm bottle necks, so you can fill a bottle and drink through the filter.
• BPA-Free ABS Body — The 7.1 in (18 cm) long, 1.57 in (4 cm) wide tube is made from food-grade ABS plastic.
• Capped Ends And Lanyard — Tethered caps cover the mouthpiece and the intake, and a blue lanyard lets you hang the filter around your neck.
• Hard-Shell EVA Case — A molded EVA foam shell under an Oxford fabric cover, measuring 7.8 x 2.6 in (19.8 x 6.6 cm), protects the filter from knocks and dust.
• Carabiner And Mesh Pocket — An elastic strap holds the filter in place, a mesh lid pocket stores the lanyard, and the included carabiner clips the case to a belt loop or pack webbing.

Case And Carry Weight

The complete set (filter, case, lanyard and carabiner) weighs 4.16 oz (118 g). The threaded cap at the intake end unscrews to show the coarse screen, and the inner stages stay sealed in the tube. The case is shaped to fit this filter closely, so it does not rattle around inside your pack or clip-on loadout.
