No.5 Pattern Bayonet

This Windlass Steelcrafts reproduction follows the bayonet issued with the Lee-Enfield No.5 Mk1, the short British rifle known as the Jungle Carbine. It gives collectors and reenactors the look and layout of the original pattern without the cost and uncertainty of hunting down period issue. It also suits a display rack beside a Jungle Carbine or as a standalone piece in a British small arms collection.

Features

• Clip-Point Blade — The Bowie-style profile, where the spine dips toward the tip, matches the knife-like shape of the No.5 pattern.
• Fullered Blade — A long groove runs down each side of the blade, lightening it while keeping it stiff.
• Blackened Finish — The blade, crossguard and pommel carry a dark finish rather than bright steel, as on the issue pattern.
• R.F.I. Marking — The ricasso, the flat unsharpened section just ahead of the guard, is stamped R.F.I., the mark of Rifle Factory Ishapore.
• Muzzle Ring Crossguard — A steel ring at the top of the guard is the part that slips over a rifle's muzzle on the original design.
• Wood Grip Scales — Two wooden grip panels are held to the tang with a pair of slotted screw bolts each side.
• Pommel With Release Catch — A spring-style button on the pommel replicates the catch that locks the bayonet to a rifle's bayonet bar.
• Black Metal Scabbard — The included scabbard has a rounded chape at the tip and a frog stud for hanging it from a belt frog.

Windlass Steelcrafts builds this bayonet as a reproduction of the No.5 Mk1 pattern, with a steel blade and fittings, wooden grips and a matching metal scabbard. It is sold as a reproduction, not as original wartime issue. If you plan to mount it on a rifle, check the fit against your own Jungle Carbine, because fit on original or replica rifles is not guaranteed.
