Ruger LCP II 7-Round Magazine

This is Ruger's factory 7-round magazine for the LCP II, chambered in .380 ACP. The blued steel body has numbered witness holes, small cutouts that show how many rounds are loaded at a glance, and is stamped .380 and Made in USA. An extended polymer floor plate with stippled texture lengthens the grip so your little finger has somewhere to sit, which helps you control a pistol this small. A polymer follower and high-tensile steel spring feed the rounds. It suits LCP II owners who want one more round and a fuller grip, as a carry spare or as the magazine that lives in the gun.

Description

Extended LCP II Magazine

This is Ruger's own 7-round magazine for the LCP II, chambered in .380 ACP. Compared with the shorter standard magazine, it adds one round and an extended floor plate that gives your little finger room on the grip. That extra purchase helps on a pistol this small. Carry it as a spare, or run it in the gun when you want the fuller grip.

Features

  • 7-Round Capacity — Holds seven rounds of .380 ACP, one more than the LCP II's standard magazine.
  • Blued Steel Body — The magazine tube is steel with a blued finish, a chemical treatment that darkens the metal and adds some resistance to rust.
  • Numbered Witness Holes — Small numbered cutouts down the side of the body let you see how many rounds are loaded without stripping the magazine.
  • Extended Polymer Floor Plate — The base plate extends the grip below the frame so your little finger has a place to sit instead of curling under the gun.
  • Stippled Grip Texture — A raised, roughened pattern on the floor plate adds traction for your hand during firing and for your fingers when you pull the magazine.
  • Polymer Follower — The follower, the platform that pushes rounds up toward the chamber, is molded polymer.
  • High-Tensile Steel Spring — A steel spring drives the follower and keeps rounds feeding to the top of the magazine.
  • Factory Ruger Part — Made by Ruger in the USA, with .380, Made in USA and the Ruger logo stamped on the body and RUGER molded into the floor plate.

Fit And Construction

Ruger designed this magazine for the LCP II, so check that your pistol is an LCP II before ordering. Because it comes from the original manufacturer, it uses the same feed lips, body dimensions and catch cutout as the pistol was built around. The steel tube and polymer floor plate keep weight down, and the floor plate adds length below the grip in exchange for the extra round and the better hold.

Works great but stiff to load

Got this for my lcp ii to be my backup mag for when carrying. Went to the range and shot 80 rounds threw it. Mainly FMJ and Hornady Hollow point. No issues with feeding. The one extra round is nice. The base plate gives a nice finger hold for my pinky. Makes it feel better in my hand. Only thing that I noticed is the 7th round is a real B to get in there new. Had to use a loader or my thumb would give out. Did get a little easier after a few outings. Still stiff though. No misfeeds or anything. Just hate the cost for just one mag.

Extra round and pinky rest makes the LCP II easier to hold
Ran FMJ and hollow points with no feeding issues

Spring is super stiff when new, loading the 7th round hurts
Kind of expensive for just one magazine
