Field Chaplain's Kit
This is a US Army Christian chaplain kit: the items a chaplain needs to lead a service away from a chapel, packed into one compact woodland camo case. It holds a standing crucifix, nested metal bowls, an altar cloth and two stoles, so a short service can be set up on a vehicle hood or an ammo crate. Collectors of chaplaincy items, reenactors portraying Army clergy, and ministers who serve outdoors will find a complete set in one place.
Features
- Standing Metal Crucifix — A cross with a cast corpus and INRI title plaque sits on a weighted round base, so it stands upright on any flat surface.
- Nested Metal Bowls — Polished metal vessels stack inside one another to save space in the case.
- Altar Cloth — A khaki cloth with a small embroidered black cross covers a makeshift table and turns it into an altar.
- Purple Liturgical Stole — The stole, the narrow band of cloth a minister wears around the neck, is purple with a white edge and an embroidered gold cross.
- Woodland Camo Stole — A second stole in woodland camo with a sewn black cross is suited to services in the field.
- Woodland Pattern Case — The case is printed in woodland camouflage, the four-color green, brown, tan and black pattern the US Army used for decades.
- Buckled Flap Closure — A webbing strap and a quick-release plastic buckle hold the lid shut over the contents.
- MOLLE Attachment Straps — Snap-closed webbing straps on the back weave through MOLLE loops, the rows of nylon webbing on military vests and packs, so the case can mount to load-bearing gear.
- Removable Shoulder Strap — An olive drab webbing strap clips to both sides with black snap hooks for carrying the case on its own.
Carry And Attachment
This is original US Army issue, not a commercial set put together later, which is why chaplaincy collectors and reenactors look for it. The case carries three ways: on its shoulder strap, mounted to MOLLE webbing with the rear straps, or clipped to a belt or strap with the two black plastic clips on the back. Everything packs inside the one pouch, so the kit travels as a single unit.
