Description
Features
- MOD-Pattern Survival Blade — Built to British Ministry of Defence specification and issued to the RAF, Royal Marines, and British Army for field survival use.
- Heavy Carbon Steel Construction — 175mm (roughly 7-inch) carbon steel blade measures a stout 6mm thick for serious chopping, prying, and batoning work.
- Full-Tang Design — The blade runs the full length of the handle in one solid piece of steel, eliminating weak points under hard use.
- Anti-Reflective Phosphate Finish — Dark phosphate coating cuts glare in the field and adds a layer of corrosion resistance to the carbon steel.
- Riveted Hardwood Grip Panels — Wooden scales are secured to the tang with three heavy rivets for a grip that holds up to rough handling and wet conditions.
- Lanyard Hole — Rear pommel is drilled for a wrist cord so the knife stays with you when working over water, snow, or thick brush.
- Stitched Leather Sheath — Ships with the standard riveted and stitched leather belt sheath as issued with the knife.
- Made in Sheffield, England — Manufactured in the UK by an MOD-approved contractor with a long history of producing British military edged tools.
- Survival Pack Compatible — Same pattern carried in RAF Personal Survival Packs (PSPs) for downed aircrew and used by Royal Marines in both arctic and tropical theaters.

Very impressedBought this to complete my bug out bag setup and its exactly what I was hoping for. This thing is a beast with that thick carbon steel blade and you can feel the quality when you hold it. Been using it around my property to baton firewood and it works like a charm. Only thing is you really need a smaller knife too for the detailed stuff like carving cause this ones too chunky for fine work, but for heavy duty survival tasks its PERFECT.
Thick blade can pry and chop anything
Weighs almost 2 pounds

Big,great knifeHeavy well made as pictured.Shipping was fast, but a problem with FedEx delivery to wrong house.Very happy with knife.

The wooden scales...They overlap the tang so that in sub-zero temperatures you can still use the knife without the freezing cold steel causing frostbite or freezing to your wet hand.

Heavy knifeThis knife has a thick blade and flat black finish of some sort. The finish seems to be very tough, but will eventually show wear. It is full tang and I doubt you could bend or break it very easily. The main drawback was the fit of the handle. My knife had a poorly fitted handle. It was tightly riveted in place, but the wood stuck out past the edge of the tang anywhere from 1/16 inch to almost 1/4 inch. In other words, the wood pieces are shaped separately from the blade and then riveted in place with no final fitting. I suppose the knife would have to be priced much higher if hand fitting was done. The blade is substantial and well made, but a buyer ought to be prepared for a sloppy fit of the handle.
