Got This for My Dad and He Teared UpOkay so my dad was a Marine in the early 80s and he's been talking about his old KA-BAR for literally my entire life. Lost it during a move sometime in the 2010s and never replaced it. I saw this on a whim while shopping for something totally unrelated (I think I was looking at flashlights?) and just clicked buy. When it showed up I couldn't believe how hefty it felt... 11 and 7/8 inches overall, the leather handle is gorgeous and that USMC stamp on the tang just hits different. Gave it to him for an Father's Day gift last weekend and the man got misty eyed, no joke. He immediately started going on about the 1095 Cro-Van steel and how the clip point was the same as his original. The leather sheath is stiff out of the box but dad says that's how they always were, it'll break in. He did say modern ones have the powder coated blade which his old one didn't have but he actually likes it for rust prevention since he lives near the coast now. Worth every penny honestly.
Beautiful
