This is a Windlass Steelcrafts reproduction of the German bayonet carried with the Karabiner 98k, the bolt-action rifle that served as Germany's standard infantry arm in World War II. It is made for collectors, reenactors and anyone filling out a WWII German display who wants the correct look without the cost or scarcity of an original. You get the bayonet and a matching steel scabbard.

Features

• Fullered Steel Blade — A fuller, the long groove pressed along each side of the blade, runs most of its length as it does on the wartime pattern.
• Dark Blackened Finish — Blade, crossguard, pommel and scabbard share a dark finish that matches the period look.
• Two-Piece Wood Grips — Brown wood grip slabs are fixed to the tang with two slotted screw bolts.
• Steel Crossguard — A short crossguard sits between grip and blade, following the original bayonet's profile.
• Pommel With Release Button — The steel pommel carries the round push button and slot used on the original to lock the bayonet onto the rifle's bayonet lug.
• Steel Scabbard Included — The matching metal scabbard has a rounded ball tip at its end to protect the point.
• Belt Frog Stud — A raised stud near the scabbard throat accepts a frog, the leather or webbing loop that hangs a bayonet from the belt.
• Stamped Markings — The blade near the guard and the scabbard throat both carry stamped markings in the style of wartime production.
